Models are showing it going out to sea now. Still a little early but usually the Euro model is pretty accurate.

We needed that rain and the amount we'll get over the next 2 days won't really amount to much.

They have trouble predicting rain 24 hours in advance. yesterday morning it was supposed to be a deluge today....it's still dry.

Predicting what path a hurricane will take 5 days in advance is nothing less that very high-tech voodoo.

Much easier to be safe than sorry.

My boat is out of the water and on its trailer, far from the coast.

Trust me, as much as I don't want the storm to hit, our rivers and reservoirs need the rain!

Still wayyy too early to make that call. While the European models have it going out to sea, other models have it hitting the east coast. NJ is still within the cone of uncertainty.

Who knows, the storm Tuesday night was supposed to stall out on top of us, instead we woke up to the whole storm up in new England. For one thing it looks certain we will be getting decent rain from the front out in front of the storm which is good news. Yes many models have it going out towards sea but yesterday was the opposite with most the models had it hitting the Atlantic Coast with only a few models having it going to sea. Sure tomorrow will have a different forecast all you can do I get prepared with some basics such as water and gas. No matter what direction the storm heads it's looking like a wet and windy weekend

I think even if goes out to sea, we're going to get poured on. How much is a matter of how far out it goes. Ideally it will track a few hundred miles east, enough for us to miss devastating winds and rain, but enough to give us a good drenching

I haven't been in North Jersey since Tuesday but I came home today to a garbage pail 1/4 full of water and when I drove past the Rockaway River it was flowing pretty strongly, so I suspect there were some heavy rains, at least in northern Morris County/West Milford since Tuesday.
