ive definitely been feeling the summer to fall transition the past week or two. Plenty of crappie and pickerel drop shorting with just a few small bass though. Big bass being the unsuccessful targets.

Next tried for some smallies but didn't find them schooling up for the autumn feed yet.

Next trip tried the big d at night with some great bait but we didn't even get a sniff.

Next, tried for some eyes and rockets at cong. All the bottom marks we read turned out to be crappie and white perch, but my buddy got two twin hybrids at about 7 lbs each! 15-20' down in 25-30' water. I ended up with a cookie cutter and then a snapped line on what felt like my biggest hybrid of the season hands down. I then blacked out...I'm assuming the rage monster took over.

Switched lakes for the afternoon to flex and I finally managed some nice bass up to 17.5" suspended off the weed line. Still looking for that true pig this season! Also got a nice 17" on a frog at night while holding the boat with my foot waiting for my friend with the trailer haha.

Nice bass! Smallmouths are schooling in smaller rivers in North NJ and i assume in the NYS areas as well. Ramapo river comes to mind. Been schooling for the past month. some cool 2lb+ fish along with small ones.

Nice fish all around Chris and other guy, lol! Those are some beautiful Hybrids. The LM isn't so bad either. The transition is here and hopefully it will be gone soon. Stay on top of those fish buddy! It's HAWG season!!!

Some really nice fish, was debating on going out to flex yesterday but went elsewhere. Did you happen to see how far down the trout and salmon were sitting in flex at all?

When I was out Friday, most all the smallies were scattered in open water chasing suspended bait 12-20 feet down...

It's my personal goal in life to fish as much as possible, it really is that simple. If fishing is what you want to do there is always a way. Sacrifice sleep, like jigman haha.
