Speed Clips?

Interested to hear folks experience using Norman speed clips.

Where I fish the bottom is crazy variable. One second you're in 4' of weed choked water and the next it is 10+ and barren. Constantly retying is a PIA especially with floro and the eyesight not being so good in low-light situations.

Would be nice to easily change out lures especially crankbaits/top water. Thinking they could also be helpful trout fishing rapalas.

Researching they generally get positive responses but some folks pull off the plugs split rings others just clip to it. I wouldn't think that you would be impeding the baits action since the clip is essentially another split ring?

Iv'e tried those clips and ended up hating them. You gotta squeeze the top to open the ringed bottom and the clip would just flip sideways in my fingers. PITA....I'm a huge fan of the Tacticle Angler clips http://www.tacticalanglers.com/ but their smallest clip might still be too big for trouting or small jigs.

I love them. They have a smaller profile so they are less bulky than traditional snap swivels. Use them exclusively for fishing artificials in freshwater.

small duolocks is what I prefer, I cant rly get my fingers to squeeze those and its a PIA sometimes. Im young and can barely see the small ones, and Ive landed big muskie and wipers on the smallest duolocks without ever having one open on me.

I use speed clips on all my cranking and top water setups. They make it easy to quickly change lures depending on deep, structure or weed growth. It can be a pain to open them some days but it is still easier than retying so I can try to find the bait the fish want that day.

On smaller lures they can be difficult but I use them on my fluorocarbon leaders I make up for MUSKY. With a larger lure they are a snap to change out but tough on lighter stuff.

I use rosco / sampo. Tough as nails.

i have a pack of speed clips.....free to a good home....

actually wouldn't give them to my worst enemy....was jigging blade baits and on my 10th cast and second pop the line went light....figured a pickerel bite off or line break...NOPE....speed clip still attached...lure must have worked its way between the split ring portion....needless to say threw them in the garbage..cost me a $8 lure....
