This is my last weekend fishing in NJ, as I go off to start my freshman year of college! Thought I would put one last bend in the rod before I leave tomorrow :p
After I got out of work at Six Flags, I conveniently hit Prospertown Lake, which is literally right on Six Flags. Met a kayaking couple who just got off saying the fishing there is great and apparently a lot of fish survived and stayed during the dam failure, and now are getting huge because of all the baitfish stocking that place receives. Either way, I used a small 2 inch grub and worked out a few small bass, sunnies, and a couple of perch. Really cool pics with rollercoasters in the background.
After that I hit one of my local honey holes. Caught a beautiful crappie, a perch, pickerel (no pic ), 3 bass-all dinks, and few sunnies, completing what I call the Jersey Shore Slam! A big bass (5lbs+) tried to eat one of my sunnies while reeling it in, but he gave up and swam away. Did this ever happen to any of you? How did you catch it?!?!?:mad::mad:
I really want to take some time out and thank everyone on this forum for their kindness and willingness to to share tip and tricks. Without this forum, I would never be half the fisherman that I would be today, and I would have not gone to half of the places I have fished in NJ. I have caught a PB pretty much everything since joining this awesome, awesome site. I cant wait until I come back on breaks and start out-fish my dad again! Tight lines, and I'll definitely be checking the site from Boston.
