Same ol thang. Tossing softees on plain heads. Picked up a 23.5" fish Fri night around 3 am. Left immediately after. Tons of bait around. Suckers, mosquito fish, these curious looking shiner like thingamabobbers.... can any one identify??
Sunday nite. Similar deal. Had to work me arse off for one fish. Switched to magic lure. Spotted the eyes about 10 ft away. Pitched, twitched, boom. Yay! Lol. Fish was 18-19". Homeward bound after. All fish sluggish. Eels galore. Carp so thick you could walk on them. And the most crayfish I've ever seen in the flowy drink o the Raritan. Snaketastic times...they were everywhere too.
I keeps a gettin em this summer... need rain. A good rain. Fish need a nice cool shower...

Let me know dude. Been a lil slow but managing a few here and there. I think this heat is making them real sluggish. They're not fighting hard. Nice smallies in there though. I see them cruising around. Def need a heavy rain...

way to go Jeremy, I give u alot of respect for still doing the vampire thing lol.....I had a tough time this spring w staying up and getting out, early trips are so much easier as you get older....I know its tough w the baby and just kids in general, nice fish too by the way, the river never ceases to impress me

I'd love to do an early morning trip and be on the rd home by lunch time. Get on the water, bail some pigs, get off before the heat and yahoos are out in full force. Opportunistic fishing at its finest!

Takes some skill and experience to nab fish like that constantly from shore!

Need some rain to bring some BEASTS up! Nice quality fish Jigman! I'm thinking those bigguns from last year smartened up. I'd jig a 12 inch live Eel for that 30 incher if I was down there, LOL!:D

Lol duly noted. I think the rain is key right now although flows are ok with the recent discharges from the reservoirs. The big girls will eat my 3.75" plastics... Or I'll put magic blue in front of them. Haven't even tried fishing shiners or crays. That might work too.
