Caught a few green sunfish and Rock bass under my dock and decided to try a new spot for flatheads, that I've always caught a ton of channel cats at. Havnt fished it in a few years since I sold my skiff with the jet, no boat access other then running the rapids so I threw the kayak in back of the truck and gained permission to launch from a guys property. Set up around 8 with two rods one with cut bait and other with live bait, and all was quiet till aaround 830. 3 channel cats 23"-28" were caught and landed in short order on cut bait. Around 9pm I hooked a large fish on a live sunfish but unfortunately he got me wrapped up in one of the many large boulders in this hole and cut my 65lb off. Fish definitely had some shoulder on him. Before I could get my line in my cut bait went off and was a small 5lb flathead. 9-10pm ended up with 3 flatheads with the largest about 10lb and 4 more quality channel cats. Action was hot till I ran out of bait a few mins after 10. Great nice little outing on a work night

Sounds like a good night on water to me.
Sucks about the big one though ... I know it wont be long before you'll get him.

Wow - that was quite a night!
The water on the Delaware River was so clear this weekend, in some areas I could see 12 feet down.
I saw a carp that may have been in the 40-to-50 pound class. I'm not sure, but it was definitely the largest I've seen in my lifetime.
The fishing definitely picks up in the evening and into the night, but I don't stick around that late. The mosquitoes are horrible this summer and as I mentioned in Andre's thread, a long time ago I was stumbling through the woods back to my car and walked right into a bear. The bear was startled by my screaming and walked off.

Yep the problem is its a very deep hole, 40 ft with some major current and all kinds of large rocks and boulders, fish heaven but extremely hard to bottom fish. Several fish I could feel the line against rocks I jumped in the kayak and got over top of the fish to fight straight up and down which worked great.sure there are a few big girls swimming down there

Aaaa.
40 Feet down you say. I am surprised you didn't see Eddy fishing of the rocks if I am thinking of the hole you are talking about.

Sounds like a nice after work session on the river to me. Steady action with the catfish. Fun stuff!

40 feet? Maybe when the river is running 10 feet high
