Camping out at Seth's place with the NJF crew! Cooking meat on an open fire! Catching Salmon and Steel on 10-12 lb test with 6-10 lb leader! Oh I'm all IN!!!! I look forward to this trip every year! Wouldn't miss it for the world!!! Let's just hope the fish are in before everybody leaves. Last year, the day everyone left, myself and Fireballbob had a banner day at the Ballpark. GIT-R-DONE!!!!!:D

Ha ha ha,

10 lbs test. Lol eddie you just like the snapping sound it makes on the first jump don't you.

Regardless will be coming up on Friday night so make sure fires are burning and beers are flowing.

Depending on which car I will be able to get from the lot if anyone willing to tag along they are more than welcome. From Friday night to sunday day.

Lets make it happen.

I'm in...last year was a blast. Even if there really are no fish in that river! Hopefully it won't be so damned cold this year...Rained like hell then froze the tents last year if I remember correctly. Ah good times.

It's a good time for sure. Thanks for hosting us again Seth.

Can't wait.

Time to sharpen up the big treble hooks and start rippin at some salmon (sarcasm for the humor challenged).

I might be in this year, I just got an extra week off at work and need to figure out how to spend it.

I don't want to sound like an extreme wimp, but are there charter boats on the lake that time of year ? Are there trout and smallmouth tribs to be had ?

licenses in ny start oct 1 dnt forget

There's a new system in place now. The license runs for one year from the date of purchase.
At least that is how mine is dated.

Why would 10lb snap? You fish with drag locked down?

Did happen couple of times.

Mostly just poor pole positioning on my part and not feeling the run properly.

In my defense last year was my first year going and still got a lot to learn but had a 20 lbs line snap on more than one occasion. Like mentioned just not giving fish some slack when it was going for a jump and trying to reel it in at that moment that did it.

Ahh those days.

We fish when we're up north, no circus acts involved. You wana learn how to fish for these Eastern U.S. TROPHY's? This is the trip! Can't wait. Just looked at my Salmon/Chrome rods today, they're ready to go as always. I just need to restock some flies! Fly game is my game but on a spinning rod. Anyone have fresh egg sacs available come September let me know. I will pay for that CHROME CANDY!!!

See you MANIACS sooooooooooooon!!!!

All are welcome to camp out at my camp, it's minimal accomodations. However, everyone must be out on sunday when it's over as I will have family coming up sunday or Monday for a few days of fishing. If anyone has questions pm me.

To fish for these salmon all one needs is a NY state fishing license, right? or is there something special for the salmon run?

Been thinking about going up there either this year or next since I already have a NYS fishing license..
Never done it before so should be a fun learning experience.

There is no other special stamps or tags. However there are leader, hook restrictions that you should research for your own benefit.

I fished on Irish Knots last monday, a reputable capt. He said fish were at 600+ft. We landed one in 100ft, nice color. Captains I've talked to are all saying most fish aren't gorged with bait when they're fileted. Hope it picks up.

No worries buddy. Temperatures should take a dive sometime next week with some rain hopefully coming in. Should be enough to get things going!
