Left the house early today to go make bait and see what was happening on one of my most favorite big rivers. Actually had a tough time getting the bait in the bucket today, not sure if it was because of the full moon or what. I got my baits finally and off to the river I went. So many people up and down the river today you would've thought they were giving something away, lol. Anyhow, got all set up while waiting for Andre and company to get to the spot. Some time goes by and I'm getting run offs here and there and manage to land a pair of smaller 5lb class invasive Flatheads. The other fishermen to the left of me were catching as well. Looks like its going to be a good night.

Finally get the run off I'm looking for after missing the previous 2. The fish were taking so much line but not inhaling the bait. Almost got spooled 3 times this evening. AHHHHHHHHHHHHH HAAAAAAAAAAAAA! The 3rd one did NOT get away. I let this river BEAST take as much line as it wanted, down to the backing of my small Shimano bait runner. I lift up the rod once she stopped running, reeled in the slack, then "BOOM", set that hook like a champ. Right away I knew it was a good fish. Andre and company were right by my side to aid me in this catch. Drag was tightened all the way down and this fish still made the bearings on my reel spin. Finally get the BEAST up and the reaction from all of us was just, WOW, HOLY SH!*!!! Get the fish on land, hands shaking from the battle and the absolute adrenaline rush. What a fish!!! This creature was as fat as fat can be. Got her up for a few pics and a quick weight, She weighed 24 lbs according to the Rapala digital, but not sure of the length. What I do know is this is my new PB Catfish absolutely crushing my old PB OF 18lbs. Oh man, oh man, just got home and my adrenaline is still going strong. What a night on the BIG RIVER!!! Thanx for coming out with me Andre and company. Good times had by all yet again. I LIVE FOR THIS SH!*!!!!!

Here's a few pics. TIGHT LINEZ!!!!!!!!:D

Delaware river, I'd like to get my hands on a 30 lber or bigger. I've fished the southern waters a few times with friends but this was a while back. I know quite a few spots from northern end down to Trenton. Once I get passed Trenton I don't know much other than a few very popular Striper spots. Looking for MONSTERS!!! Always!

Congrats Eddy.

It is one thing to hear about PBs and another one to be personally present.

True story will be coming up in my report later. LoL

As well as additional pictures.

Ken,

You know it is not an Andre night if something doesn't happen

Wow! That thing is a monster!

Yes, the river was extremely crowded this weekend. In fact, the Delaware Water Gap was completely over-run with tourists and picnickers from the city.
