I've been a bit quiet on here the past couple weeks, since there hasn't been much to report. I was hoping I could knock the dust off this afternoon by hitting up a local bass pond. I started out throwing a slug-go, and hooked up with a few small bass. After a lull in the action, I switched over to a weedless frog, and a few casts later it gets annihilated. Luckily I was spooled up with hefty braid, and was able to bring the fish in through the weeds and sticks. I could tell she was big when she hit, but I was floored when I got her in. I didn't have a tape or scale with me, but she was every bit of 20" and thick, definitely 5+ pounds. Releasing her was a bit of an adventure, but eventually the fish swam off strong.

Great clip man. That is for sure a healthy slob of a bass. Great catch!

Caught my best fish ever last year at this time. No camera, no scale. But from years of experience I know it was 5 plus and probably closer to 6.

Awesome catch!
I recommend carrying a measuring tape. Then you can use the length-weight charts to get a good estimate of your fish's weight.

That's awesome. I caught my biggest bass on the one day I forgot my camera. I was able to measure it at just under 24" but all I have is a crappy flip phone photo of it. Thankfully next time I went I made my wife film me using a new lure I made and I ended up getting my second biggest at 22" on video! I'm glad you caught your beast on video too, very cool!
