Pompton Lake 7/10

Wanted to try out a new lake today, so I headed over to Pompton Lake with my kayak for a few hours and tried it out. Only managed one 2 lber on a buzzbait. But, someone fishing from the bridge hooked up with a 28.5" Northern and was obviously unable to lift it out of the water to land it, and I certainly didn't want to see that happen because I knew it would be a dead fish if it was manhandled up. I decided to help him out and netted it for him, measured it, gave him a good look at it (he didn't want any pictures), and gave it a proper release. I'm glad I was there and able to save such a nice fish. Good day on the water, and I'm looking forward to returning there in the future.

Nice to explore new spots and hook up with some fish. Nice bass and good report! There's a ton of different species over there as well, got some pb's in that stretch myself. Thanks for helping that dick on the bridge too, shoulda cut n kept his lure, haha! I actually gotta call it quits on my one local spot until I fix my net there. About an eight foot drop and with no net, I'll have to wait for you to come along, lol.
