6-26-15:Lots of action last night on the R

Fished from 11pm-3am or so last night. Threw predominantly one bait for most of the time and caught most of my fish on it, once it slowed i switched it up until I couldnt cast anymore lol. Started with 3.75" soft plastic on a jighead. Used 3 bodies as they were getting demolished. Finished throwing a plug. Caught 8 schoolie stripers from like 12-15", 5 smallies from 12-16", 2 rock bass, and a pretty pig of a walleye that measured 24" with some girth. Feedbag was def on, and there was tons of various types of bait all over. Shiners, killies, chubs, crayfish, small gills and rock bass, elvers, and a bunch of other stuff I couldnt identify paved the shorelines. Decent number of carp around, too. Less than a few weeks ago, but still a bunch.

I keep saying I'm gonna bring a bucket to catch and put bait in but never do. The crays I saw would be perfect to drift for smallies or bottom rig for cats! The other stuff was pretty small but some of the fish I caught were spitting them up or had them poking outta their gullets.

And yes Dale, it was a blueberry red bull nite! Rough day today for sure...

Nice bag bro, and great lookin smallie! Was out last night too but the bite wasn't as strong. Lil luv on some stick baits but none on the plugs. Bait is always boss for me after the bites dead, sounds like a nice selection you had to choose from.

It's either catch up on sleep, or enjoy what I love the most aside from my kids/family... I opt to fish bc I'll sleep when I'm dead lol.
