Fished in the morning from the posted property downstream of Stephens Mill Rd to the posted property upstream of Stephens Mill Rd. Figured the rain on Tuesday would cool things down a bit. Water temp was 65 and rising so no fish pics. Just quick catch & release. Caught 3 wild browns, a bunch of chubs, and one bluegill.

Saw an empty plastic container and decided to do an impromptu stream cleanup. I more than filled it up, so hopefully this stretch stays litter free for awhile.

On another note I read the article below earlier this month about brook trout in the SBR, and which interested me into exploring upstream of Flanders-Drakestown Road. So I decided to do it. Waded all the way until the stream turns flat and swampy. Fortunately there is Land Conservancy trail at this point which leads to Wolfe Rd so I walked up that instead of walking back through the stream. Some decent habitat, and unfortunately some litter too. Coldest temperature I recorded unfortunately was 72. One of the tributaries was 58 at the confluence but did not have much flow. I'll probably give this stretch a shot at least once this fall to see if the only trout I find are brookies.

Glad you are enjoying the outdoors. Next expand your adventures into other states. My son explores many streams not fished much in Pa. He does prettty well. Like you, he walks long ways off the beaten path. You can PM him on this web-site. He goes by Doug. It was nice meeting you. Let's get together sometime.
