Zombie Fishing 6/4 - 1st Hybrid!

after having success last saturday headed out with the brother in law last night for some more sleep deprivation... lake is so nice during the week...no big boats and only saw 1 other boat fishing...

finally caught my first hybrid!! beautiful fish that crushed the top water bait..the blow up was just awesome to see....she weighed in just under 6lbs...CPR'd

magic time started at midnight and was still going strong when we called it quits at 2:30am....had 1 other hook up but pulled the hook....must have had 15+ swings and misses. not sure if there were smaller fish that couldn't get the hook or what was going on...certainly frustrating....

Great fish Squatch! Once you figure em out you'll want to fish for em everyday. They fight like hell. Congrats on your first BRID!!! Rockets, 'Brids, Wipers!!! They're nuts! Especially when the 10 lbers bulldawg you into a weed patch to unhook themselves. :D

Good luck not becoming addicted. I often find myself needing a wiper fix by Wednesday of each week. The jarring surface hits, powerful runs, and head shakes are second to none in NJ waters--esp on lighter tackle. I'm yet to crack the 25" mark...someday!

Nicely done. Night top water is intense! Try a strait retrieve top water lure like a buzz bait they can line it up easier at night sometimes.
