Hit three spots in P today between 7:00 and 2:00. 4 pike to 32" 3 perch. all on spinnerbait Thought it would be better. Did see consequences of fish kill 2 weeks ago, many dead pike rotting in the bank upstream of eagle rock ave including some large
I the last three weeks I have seen more fisherman in the P then I saw in total all of last year

Fish kill? Sounds like a good day of fishing but what's the info on the floaters. I walked down from S.O. ave on Thursday and that stretch looked great!

Two weeks ago cats and carp gulping for air in the blackwater, I saw them at SO Ave. tried to upload a pic of a big dead pike I saw among many at eagle rock today but don't know if it worked

Oh boy! Hopefully this rain helps the situation and filters out any garbage or toxins in the water. Fished the SOA spot and didn't see anything on the banks last week. Caught a couple dinks from 12-24 inches.
The fish you caught! Were they stressed? Were the fins all red? They just came off the spawn so it may be hard to tell if the fish are stressed versus being healthy?

All seemed pretty healthy
We need some rain as river is below late summer levels
Going explore a new stretch for me next week way downstream

River is fine. Caught 7 pike, 2 bass and had another 7 or 8 swipes in little over an hour friday evening. Hit it while you can because if we get the rain predicted - 3-4" - its going up, up, up...
Mosquitoes continue to be just awful. Don't forget your OFF!

2 weeks ago I saw 2 carp along the banks by S.O. Ave, hit there today for and hour, had swipe at my first cast and then nothing... Gladly I've never seen a dead pike around there

There was a weird situation 2 weeks ago where water was black and carp, catfish, fatheads were all gulping air and it seems there was a small fish kill
Today water looked great very clear for the P but very low
Totally aside, in all my years of fishing I have never caught a pike upstream of eagle rock to the trestle. Downstream from eagle rock to fair lawn yes; upstream of trestle to Chstham yes. Just this stretch. Is it me? Has anyone else caught in this stretch?

What trestle are you referring to?

Upstream from eagle rock where the there is a man made impediment in the river, not a trestle per se

Gotcha. I have never fished that section of river.

I've landed a few in this stretch. But nothing over 30". Seems like lighter gear gets more hook ups out there. Had more on my preferred bass lures as opposed to my more gaudy pike lures.

If I'm thinking about the right spot , I've never fished there, no idea where to get in...

I've fished sections all around there that look perfect - trees down everywhere, even lily pad fields(downstream of rt 10) and caught zippo while other areas shallow and nearly devoid of any structure have pike. I've come to learn they prefer clearer water above anything else despite the lack of cover. Being primarily sight feeders, it makes sense.

Couldn't agree more, I've walked far as hell to fish downed trees and lilly pads and most of my fish come from random casts in the middle of open water lol

Sitting on a plane getting ready to fly to Düsseldorf when I get back Sat P should still be a few days from being fish able from shore. Lady across from me reading Art of War, good sign
