Hit the same area as yesterday this AM looking for some Trout. Area was still pretty much loaded. Landed 12 or so Bows on assorted lures and worms. All released today for another angler to enjoy. Got slammed right around 1130 am, thought I had a big Brown, but NO! Its jumping out of the water pulling like an absolute BEAST on the ultra lite set up, TIGER TROUT! What a beautiful specimen, all finned out, bright colors and broad shoulders. Tiger was about 15 inches or so. Great morning on the river. A few quick pics and the fish swam away strong!

To answer your question...
Description: Tiger Trout, a hybrid cross between a female Brown trout and a male Brook trout, has a unique, dark maze-like pattern all over a brownish, gray body. The belly is yellowish orange as are the pectoral, pelvic and anal fins. The tail fin is square. Tiger trout are quite piscivorous (fish eaters) from an early age. They seem to be more willing to hunt for prey in shallower waters than many other trout subspecies are.
I'll add to that they are usually very aggressive, not only in their feeding behavior but also in their dealings with other trout. Basically they don't play well with others.
That particular fish no doubt came from the Mancini's Musky Trout Hatchery near Bloomsbury. I caught one about 12" last weekend on the BFB that came from the same source. On Opening Day a 17" was caught at the Roy bridge pool on the Flatbrook, which was most likely stocked as a 14-15 incher last summer.
