Hit the salt first and put some blood on the deck. Stripes were on fire for us last week of April. Then the blues invaded. Went out yesterday in the lake and got blown all over the place. Still got 3 smallies and this beautiful 21" rainbow. Looks like it had a sore on its gill plate if you zoom in. Anyone think its anything disease related? Fish seemed healthy and fought great outside of that. Wouldnt want any diseases in Round Valley.

I am the guy taking the pic lol. Im always driving the boat and rushing to get the fish back in, although we probably should have kept that bow. What more specifics would ya like? :D

It's occurs in nature, it's not just a hatchery only disease. Rainbows from Peaquest Hatchery or more resistant to it, but not immune! That fish looks like a Musky Hatchey rainbow based on the coloration! Vern runs a great operation at the Musky hatchery, his fish leave his hatchery in perfect health!
NJ Fish and Wildlife needs the actual fish for tissue testing in the lab. It's hard to tell by the picture, but looks like there is actually two wounds there. Could be damage from a bird.
