Hit the river for a little while in the morning on Saturday and Sunday. Didn't fish long on Saturday, and ended up with one decent fish in the mid 20" range.

On Sunday, I decided to hit a new section of river. Had a bit of action, but all the pike were small. As Buzzbaiter said, the mosquitos were unrelenting. On the way home, I decided to hit one of my spots for a few casts to see if anyone was around. I began throwing one of my homemade lures and quickly got slammed. The fish tore all over the river, peeling drag and thrashing around in classic pike fashion. Got the fish to the bank and it is my biggest so far this year at 33 inches. The fish was very healthy and fat. Got the quick measurement and the fish was released in great shape. I love catching fish on homemade lures.

Very nice! I'm with you, love it! Caught my two biggest bass on a lure I invented 2 years ago. And I have another lure created and waiting to be tested!

Keep tinkering man as I'm sure you know, it pays off! Somewhere a monster out sized, classic lure conditioned fish is waiting to engulf one of your homemade lures!

Nice pike. Watch those gill rakers, they will cut you to pieces.

Sweet lookin pike dude, nice! Great job on gettin em on the homemade lure too, even better! I've caught one on a homemade lure than lost it in a snag a few casts later. It does feel great when your own stuff gets it done. Mine was an inline spinner with added weights and colors, and white bucktail hanging off the treble. I'm with Eddie, would luv to see ur lure dude!

Thanks guys! The lure is nothing crazy, just a homemade inline spinner. Ill post a pic. Much cheaper to buy the parts and make them then buy them in a store!
