Hit some different waters the last few days and landed some different fish. Finished up back on the river and also hooked a few decent ones.
So I was fishing a trib that empties into the P, and got some fat carp, panfish, and some smaller bass. I was approximately 3.5 miles upstream from the mouth of the trib, it's actually as small as a brook in most spots between where I was, and the river. But nature always finds a way. So really just targeting trout & bass, I hooked into a small 15" pike! I was amazed it made it so far into that neck of the woods. I only know of 1 other guy that fishes this hole and can bet he didn't put or stock it there. Not sure if it's a good or bad thing, but I guess my trout/bass spot will be producing teeth now. No pic cuz this spots still low key, but in due time.

These fish move very far upstream or downstream of their original stocking points. You should know that!!!

Pretty sure it's 4"-6" fingerlings that are stocked. It literally made its way through inches of water to get stuck there. Wouldn't have been AS surprised if I hadn't covered the length of the whole stretch, not knowing the shallow, rocky venture he endured. Cool to see them in new spots!
Also got some more bass, misc. panfish, and a 270lb linebacker today. Got that ol' BLACK & YELLOW on for the haters out there, AAAHHHAAAHAAAHAA!!!!!
Smb playa!

The larger tribs to the PR all hold some pike up to the point where a dam or lake spillway will stop them. Just find the deepest hole on any of them and you may get a few of them. One of the places has one pool about 150 feet long, 60 feet wide and deep. I came across it last year. Yes there were the usual species like redbreast sunfish, rock bass and carp in there, but I also caught three pike and missed a few more -several over 30". This is miles and miles away from the Passaic in a trout-stocked water.

Nice fish Mr Luciano! Keep the reports coming! Keep catching! I mess around in a part of the Passaic that is not stocked at all and have caught around 100 Pike between 6-12 inches over the years. There kinda like Gremlins, they multiply in water, LOL!!!!!!
