Got the jet drive ready to hit the Delaware tomortow. Where is the preferred area to shad fish in the river? Deepest channel? Middle? Sides? Never knock it out of the park with shad so I want to improve on that. Any advice appreciated.

keep a good eye on the other boats its a good way to see what the bite is like that day. every day seems to be different with the cold water 47 deg yesterday.

i'll be looking to get my first shad this year, but will probably be doing it from shore. hopefully not a big learning curve on catching some! good luck!

lambertville bridge area is always good. preferred methods are downriggers w a nice lead staying kinda low in the water column. also poor mans downriggers work well, use a shad rap maybe #7 or similar and pull the hooks and run a few ft leader off it to a shad spoon, the shadrap makes it dive and bounce. try diff colors, it matters, and pop your lines w your hands to give extra action to the shadraps. as said watch the other boats and see what theyre doing. Many areas of the river you dont need a jetdrive but you ALWAYS need a good river anchor, thats the #1 piece of hardware in my opinion..good luck

Tom and I hit the river by bulls island today. Picked up half dozen and lost about the same. Caught on all methods, but I think weighted flat line was the best. Fished a seam in about 10 ft about three ft off bottom.

Phillipsburg, you can launch from either side ( NJ or PA ) and fish at the confluence of the Delaware and Lehigh rivers, drove over there today and about a dozen boats bouncing darts there. Water is plenty deep in that area. PM me if you need more info

The reports from netting lower river R not stellar as yet , but ther R fish in river , temps might be hurting bite . This coming week should heat up considerably on dropping water & rising water temps.

It was a day of battling the wind and fast running water. Only 5 little guys to show for the effort. Nice to be out though.
