Raritan River=good fishing

Hit the mighty raritan this week with decent results,picked up some eye's, pig smallies and some LMB's all fish caught on rattle traps. Today I saw good showing of shad but none for me

American shad fishing is closed on all NJ rivers with the exception of the Delaware River. River herring fishing is closed on all NJ rivers.

Rutgers has a Scientific Collecting Permit which allows them to capture A. shad & river herring via nets, hook & line, etc. for a tagging study on the Raritan River.

It's good to see another river LOVER taking advantage of the home waters. I saw Vinnie down there and asked him if he got any Walleye yet, he said nope! Shortly after he sends me a pic of a nice 20 incher. YEA BUDDY!!! Nice mixed bag buddy! I'm glad to see you out and about after a long brutal winter. Were you there when River Rat 2 whacked those Stripers???
