Curse broken: Monks eyes

Hundreds of trips, hundreds of hours on the water without landing a stupid Walleye from this place. Yesterday it happened. 3 guys, 3 'eyes. My first from this body of water and my good buddy Bling306's first Walleye ever. All released very quickly. All fish came fairly shallow on suspending minnow plugs. Water was cold but signs of life everywhere. Some pics..

WOW, great catching !!!!!!!!! But...wow....do I HATE the dry wear that everyone is wearing for cold water/weather kayaking clothes/gear. If you need something to borrow.....let me know.

I took a ride on my motorcycle yesterday and all the lakes and reservoirs up here are still iced over.
You guys are pretty hard-core getting out in Kayaks with the water temps probably still in the low 40s.

Why is Monksville so slow? And does anyone know if it's oxygen depleted in summer? Hopatcong has awful oxygen depletion, and yet the lake's fishery thrives...
