Opening day was slow for me and most others in the river stretch i hit, but i headed back the next morning with my wife's uncle (down from vermont) for an easter morning rainbow beatdown! ...started off slow again but thankfully he had some tricks up his sleeve and we were able to finesse some bows into biting and we both ended up with a few cutters and one tagged cow each! first nice fish for me since ice jigging up some perch in early march!
She put up one hell of a fight on the light gear and dodging the classic nj metal scraps in the water was a great added challenge :D pulled the tag out and released it for someone else to enjoy...it'll most likely not survive summer in that area, but i had enough trout marinating back at home anyway.
