Hit my favorite river in union county with my brother in law and old man. Hit a bow on the head on the first cast and after a short lull it was lights out. Caught them on butterworms, power bait and spinners. Spinners fished low and super slow out fished bait 6-1. We kept our limit, the only trout I'm keeping this year and released several bows. Most fish were cookie cutter rainbows but did have a few between 14-16. Most people did much worse because they were either using bait or fishing the lures way to fast. You had to crawl the spinner to catch them today. Now off to work with wind burn and fishy fingas... :D

Glad to hear some one had a great day! Maybe the pics are too large, pm Wilson or Gerry to straiten out the problem.

I hit a few Cranford spots today. Thought I beat the skunk, ending up with a bullhead on a pm, at sunset, none the less. Woe is me.
Tried spinners, trout worms. salmon eggs and powerbait. Saw fish chase spinners. Saw other people catch fish. Trout just ain't my thing I suppose.
Might switch to bass tomorrow.

Gratz! Interesting about the spinners. Where I was, the folks using bait and flies did the best I think.

Anyone make there way up to Selley's pond ? I didn't fish opening day but stopped there on the way home from work. People were saying not 1 big trout was seen pulled out of there and they didn't even think they stocked them in there. Anyone else fish there with any luck ?

I was there on opening day. I saw at least 2 or 3 nice size. I spend most of the morning on the river with total of 6. Overall it was a slow morning.

I got 10 rainbows under the dam opening day but I did not see any big ones, although my friend saw one later that day, it didn't go after anything.
