With the weather being what it was yesterday, just had to get out.
Was itching all day at work waiting to leave.
Thanks for the guys at Effingers for teasing me about that pike. It will happen mark my words.
Time: 7:30pm till 11pm
Bait: Nightcrawlers and shinners
Location: Sir Johns area of Farrington Lake
When me and my buddy got to the lake one guy was there already fishing and managed to hook into nice largemouth. Not a trophy but solid 15 inches.
As always for some reason there was no sign of life until 8:30pm. Well if you don't count the beaver and geese that were trying to get our bait.
As soon as 8:30pm passed school of crappies moved in to our spot and bite was on. Shinners were getting chased left and right with the depth of about a foot from the surface. My friend pulled 3 out 8, 10 and 11 inches and we lost maybe another 5 or 6 just goofing around and being happy to finally open the open water season. Bite remained strong until 11pm
No Bass, No pike and No pickerel but that honey hole is strictly for crappies with occasional sunnies, pickerel and perch mixed in.
Great night to be out and with weather cooperating more to come.
Andre
