I have to take the safe road and cancel the opening day M&G on the big water. I really don't have much to go by other than the prediction on the USGS gauge. If estimates are even close, the water will be high and muddy. It's a shame, I was down on the river today and it looks great, low and clear.
You do have many choices if you do decide to head out after a good rain. look to places like Peapack Brook or Spruce Run Creek, both clear up very quickly.
Don't forget also this time of year monster pike will be prowling the shore lines at Spruce Run, and many lakes are trout stocked also.
It's just one day out of the year, there should be many Meet and Greets ahead this summer, a great way to get out and "hook up" with fellow NJF members.
Keep the reports and info coming in :)
