I am new to this board. I know some of you fisherman from years ago when I was much younger and we have crossed paths on either lake or stream. My favorite trout combo is a Loomis TSR 690 GLX 5 feet 9 inch rod with a Japanese Daiwa Certate 1003 reel. This is a very expensive combo and please I am not bragging in anyway. At my age I enjoy fishing top notch equipment, it heightens the enjoyment for me. Fishes like a feather and no BS, but I swear I can feel the trout breath before they hit the bait. LOL

5 1/2' St Croix Triumph with a Daiwa SS. Only had it for a couple of years but it feels great. Since I can't wade the streams anymore and I do my trouting at ponds, I decided to go with the 51/2' instead of 5'.

I had a very old 5' Loomis with a Daiwa reel for many years but I somehow lost it. That outfit caught a lot of trout and smallies.

For NJ Stockies

reel size - 500 or 1000, 2-6 lb. test line class
Rod size - 5' to 5' 1/2" UL

I like the shorter rod length because i often find myself in tight areas where I'm casting around brush and overhangs. I also find myself hiking into wooded areas fighting through thorn bushes and the smaller rod helps me get through them a little easier.

6'6" UL BassPro microlite. Shimano Sedona 2500 4-6lbs. I use this setup for most fishing unless I am throwing something heavier.

the smallest size pflueger president on a ultra light bass pro shop special haha. doesn't matter, i used to use an old ultra light ugly stick i found under a rock submerged in the musconetcong river. Rinsed the sand out and boom. I use #4 braid with a long #4 flouro coated pline leader.

I just picked up a one piece 5.5 St. Croix Premier light with a 1000 Shimano SaharaFE... It feels real nice, but I have only used it once so far. I spooled it with 6 Lb Seagaur InvizX flouro... Now I just have to catch fish with it lol! :p

I spooled it with 6 Lb Seagaur InvizX flouro...

Good line, it's the main line flouro I use - before you go out for the first time and then periodically after that, stretch it out to help prevent coiling. KVD line condition works well with it too.

Hey Guy's,

Just like nsell wrote on page one I to am new tho this site. I also have the high end tackle addiction. My favorite stream combo is either a G. Loomis TSR740-2 matched to a Daiwa Exist 1003H native custom spooled with 3lb tectan, or a G. Loomis SR720-2 GL3 matched to a Daiwa Presso 1003. For lakes and ponds my favorite combo is a G. Loomis TSR801-2 GLX matched to a Daiwa Exist 1025 spooled with 4lb Berkley Fireline crystal with a 4' leader of 6lb vanish fluro carbon. The last combo is also my favorite for throwing jigs for crappie and yellow perch too.
