Nj residents are going wild on our rivers. These kids were probably exploring, having a good time. Glad they're safe.

I got kicked the ice 4 times in NJ. Last March they called out 2 cop cars and a fire truck to kick me off 16" of ice. 16" is my record. You get paranoid soccer moms calling 911 and the cops kick you off without even checking the thickness. Pussification of America.

I don't know! The world is pretty uptight these days. Yes, theres been a few accidents here and there and thats unfortunate. My friends and I grew up walking the Rahway river, fishing, catching crayfish, hiking around Winfield. We walked the entire river from the tidal stretch to Rahway park in the winter when it was frozen, nobody cared. We ice fished above Jackson falls without being hassled. Kids will be kids. Where is the adventure these days? SHEEEESH!!!

Pussification!!!!!!LOL!!! Alright the stupidest thing my friends and I did on the Rahway. We got an inflatable raft and launched it below the Waterworks after a minor flood, we were 8-10 years old. We were having a great time until we came to the St. Georges ave bridge. The bridge was impassible because the water was up to the bottom of the bridge. We paddled frantically to the banks of the river so we wouldn't ruin our brand new stolen raft and crush our brains on the bridge. We made it out, sat on the park bench at Munce's and laughed our arses off for 5 minutes. Crossed St Georges ave and launched again, LOL!!! GOOD TIMES on the MIGHTY RAHWAY! We made it all the way down to the tidal stretch dumping into the Arthur kill. Once we got there we said to ourselves, "How the hell are we getting home?" LOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!! MEMORIES!!!

thought i would chime in....i am a younger angler. I grew up listening to all of my fathers stories growing up in Clark. Skating on jacksons pond, riding dirtbikes etc. Nobody ever bothered them . Today, me and my friends also adventure around the rivers, ice skate, dirtbikes and so on, having a good time. Time and time again we are approached by officers showing us off the ice, (which we drill btw, 13" right now). We stay off the beaten trail, but somehow some miserable person always calls on us. Very frustrating.. And for the record.. We have kayaked from Milton lake dam down till st georges..LOL
