Well uncertain whether or not to do some repairs to my truck today. Tex went off early this morning and there went any idea of repairs as I quickly loaded the gear and off I went in search of something to get me on the board for the Ice fishing contest. Met up with Fast Eddie and Sandrider611 and his son. Thank God Mike offered up his gas auger cause the ice was mad thick! I decided to go for broke today and my decision was right. Fished a combo of live and dead baits hoping for a big northern but to my surprise the chains were on the menu instead. My first chain was a beast, my PB, we estimated its weight to be six or seven pounds! The fish was THICK!!! I thought at first it was a pike since it took a large dead golden shiner. A few moments later BOOM the tip up 20 feet away goes off and another very large Pickerel on a Large live Golden. The fish were 26 3/4 and 26 1/2 inches. A little while later slammed one more for the trifecta at 24 inches! All in all a good day and glad to finally get one for the contest!

I don't even know what to say! These are some of the biggest Pickerel I've ever seen. Always a pleasure fishing with you Dale! Thank you sooooooooooo much for the Auger rental Mike! That ICE is wayyyyyyy too thick for hand Auger!!!

The smallest fish of the day, LOL, the 24 inch Pickerel!!! Interesting day with the SLIMEDARTS!!! Great catch my friend!!!!

Wow what a better way to spend a pre snowy storm
front Saturday than a Pickeral-poloosa with Dale and Eddie... Don't let these silly fish fool ya, those were really Pike in slime dart clothing... Although it was generally a slow day of flags, Dale's fast and furious PB was all worth it.. Always a pleasure gents, and the auger was the least I could do!! See ya at Da Point!! :D

Was expecting to come back up tomorrow but fell again in the driveway like five minutes ago and hurt my knee pretty bad so don't think it's gonna happen.

Thanks everybody!!! Yea I have ice creepers last week the snow built up between them and the ice and I went down. Then saturday night going to a 50th B day party and had my timberlands on and slipped in the driveway near the street!! MF!!!! Same knee two week ends in a row!!! Feeling better thou, took it easy yesterday and stayed home today to chill and rest one more day before it's back to the grind!!
Gotta be up and running for spruce this weekend!!! Can't wait!!!!!
