who gives a crap? I'm fishing! I'm sitting home Saturday there is no way I'm not fishing Sunday, Monday!
All my wusstastic fishing partners bailed out one by one...wow. Well I'm going, did where but I'm going. Isn't that what winter gear is for!?
Anyway I'd prefer to fish with at least one other person or a little group to dissect the lake and figure out the bite. Anyone what to team up or have room for one more?

I'm fishing Saturday and gonna RELAX on Sunday before work on Monday!!! With the front coming in Saturday I figure it's the best day of the weekend to fish. I am a Hardcore Manic but I am NOT insane!!!! IMO when you get Arctic Tundra cold With with a severe wind seems like the fish aren't too interested in eating so that is about the only time I will pass!!!! Who knows, the weather forecasts have been horrendous lately so might end up being a reasonably decent day so only time will tell!!!! CATCH EM' UP!!!!!!

They can't even forecast the precipitation so I def don't believe their wind forecasts, but we'll see. There are some wind protected spots I've been curious to try. Might be a bust but gotta try it to know. Could pay off.

i had plans to go out sunday... but they're saying that it's going to be the coldest it's been in two decades and being the day after a storm, catching will probably be slim pickings anyway... decided plenty of other days for me to fish
have fun though. make sure somebody knows where you're going and good luck keeping the holes open.

I'll probably just jig so I don't have to worry about that but I've never had a hole freeze under the insulated tip ups before I could check it. I've ice fished in Vermont when it's been pretty damn cold. Something tells me tomorrow won't be that bad, but I guess I'll find out.
I've fished on days that according to theory (consistent pressure pre front) should have been great but weren't, so why not try on a day that theory says shouldn't be good haha

those insulated tip ups actually work? i always figured it was a gimmick... do you have the ones that you put a handwarmer in, or are they just insulated enough?

Crisper: Just my 2 cents worth but I think it would be great idea if you had a partner out there on Sunday..I know weather reports are a little off sometimes but the real bad ones predicted here only missed by a little just ask anyone up north an east..But tomorrow I think the wind will be ur enemy..Just like open fishing I'd take rain over wind any day..Also do ur best to not get wet..-17 to -20 degrees wind chill can be a crippler real quick. Good luck and stay safe..Slider

Oh yeah they work. I just have the regular ones no hand warmer and I have black foam ones that slip under the regular tip ups. You need to make sure there is no gap; that it's pushed down flush to the snow/ice. Worst I've had is a layer of soft ice when I go to lift them that mushes right through while the other open holes may have a hard thin layer that has to be broken.
I might really put them to the test Monday but Sunday I'll probably just jig. I can't believe no one else is going out!

The fact that none of you psychos are going is starting to make me think twice but I'm just going to see what the weather brings tomorrow when I wake up and I'll make a call from there. I'm not really planning on going too far and I'll just be jigging so worst case I'm miserable for an hour and I go home.

I went out yesterday knowing today would suck. I've skied and snowshoed in this kind of weather, but I'm active and moving. Just sitting there on the ice, no thanks. For those who go, have fun!

Well if I didn't have off mon and tues I would've toughed it out but I decided to just give it hell tomorrow and Tuesday. Still won't be optimal, but this is the longest I've gone this year without wetting a line so I'm itching to get out and yank some beasts.

Crisper: Here's an update on weather as of 8:30 PM Sunday evening.Temp here in West Milford is ! degree wind gusts to 20 mph. wind chill now at -17 below zero..Just a suggestion..Think I'd skip Monday and pound the pee out of what ever lake u choose on Tuesday.. Like I said earlier stay dry and stay safe...Slider

I can't be off work 4 days and only fish once. Tomorrow looks cold but a hell of a lot better than today, so I have to give it at least a try haha
