here's some underwater footage i recorded, nothing super exciting, but i'm bored so here it is. first a mob of panfish through some small river ice, we had already hammered the crap out of them before we dropped the camera. mostly bluegills with a pumpkin seed type in there too and some perch.

and then a video of a giant pickerel that just wouldn't bite! Ever wonder what's going on down there when you can't buy a bite? then watch this! this video was taken after multiple jigs were already tried on a mark from the sonar, not a nibble. then we dropped the camera and tried a fathead on a roadrunner jig...it just stared and stared! at one point it moved towards the bait but never committed. after we pulled the camera we put a tip up there but it never ever bit! haha at the beginning it actually came closer to the camera than it ever ended up coming to the baited lure!!

Man that would just piss me off....I always convince myself that "there just aint no fish in there" if I don't catch anything. Knowing there really is would suck!:D

I couldn't believe he just stared at the baited jig and it honestly was very frustrating but using the electronics has definitely gotten me fish I would've missed if I was fishing 'blind'.

For example when you drop a jig you probably let it hit bottom first and I do too then I work it up through the column, but multiple times I'll see a mark appear half way down, stop the drop and whack! Never would know that fish was there otherwise and who knows if it'd come back minutes later on the way back up.

I just use my boat ff btw. Ghetto rigged with foam on the transducer all in a milk crate in my sled. Warning though, once you ice fish with sonar you'll never want to ice fish without it again haha. Except maybe in thick weeds that come right up to the ice.
