planning a trip for next winter with my son to spend 5 days jigging for monster walleyes.has anyone from here ever been up there?.want to catch some whitefish also.any info would be great

That sounds like a great trip. I want to get up to that area of the country myself some day...just not in winter!:) Not the ice fishing type.

I just saw a show about jigging for whitefish recently....check out Babe Winkelman online. That's his area of the world and there is a lot of outfitters, camps, and lodging info. You gotta hunt for it a little though because it's aligned with his TV show epsiodes. Try the search feature. I don't know if there is anything specific to Sturgeon Bay but there might be.

I'm sure there are others who will have better info but figured this might help. Gotta believe that he is not going to stay/use crappy places for a TV show.

I saw some great jumbo walleye ice fishing on Lake Erie on the John Gillespie show last winter. Seemed like everyone got fish over 10lbs on up to the 13lb plus range.
