Been talking about it with Jigman for a few weeks now and decided today was the day. Spent the better part of yesterday morning fishin for bait as well as sending my partner in crime out to see what he could come up with also. We managed to wrangle up about ten nice sized suckers and planned on meeting at my house for a 5:30am departure! Jigman over slept so when didn't hit the water till about eightish. Rigged those suckers up and dropped them overboard with extremely high hopes of catching a musky even though we never even tried fishing for them before. Finally found some decent marks about four hours in and all of a sudden one of the reels starts to sing a little tune! The sucker was doing the freak and all of the sudden the lines starts slowly pulling off. I grab the rod not quite sure what to do and feed him a bit more before I wind down and feel the tug!!! I buried the hook in the roof of his mouth so hard Pete Mania woulda been proud!!! The fish made a few slow pulling runs in the 36 Degree water before we even saw it. I carefully play him out and get him to the boat where we finally get an eye on it. It's My First Musky!!!! Jigman swooped him up into the net and the hootin and hollerin began as well as my convulsive shaking from the freezing temps and that green mean machine!!!! Quickly We dispatched the fish with the billy club and then took some pics.
Ah got ya!!!
Like a surgeon Jigman removes the hook and we took two quick pics and a measurement before releasing it back into the water with
it's tail smacking the water and giving me a quick bath.
Whats so hard about catching Musky?
We Went Out AND We Got One " Cause that's WHAT WE DO BEST!"
Thanks to you guys and you know who you are for the intell!
I couldn't have do it with out all of you!!!!!!!! Here's a little Porn with My Musky Cherry Being Popped!!!!!! YEEEEEEAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Guys, Going for another this weekend Lard but not sure about a 50", but we'll see!!!
My optimism and determination levels were off the charts the last few days!!! It all kinda started one night when I saw a vid on YouTube about Musky fishing. The Guy was fishing almost identically the way I fish a lot of the time and I said " Damn he is catching them like that than so can I!" It kind of snowballed from there.
When I called Jeremy and told him what I was planning He was right on board with me!
I said I'm serious were going to catch a Musky this weekend and in total seriousness he replied "I know we are." We go fish, We catch fish, that's what we do!!!!
One of the funniest things I ever heard him say!!!
I caught a lot of static and skeptisism from people about my plan but I knew deep down we were gonna get one!
I know fishing has a Huge "X" factor- It's called Luck and it was with us on Sunday!
We kept the positivity level on 10 from the moment we started and through out the entire day!
After even catching our first we were determined to boat another!
I knew this was the technique and the time to do it!
I am so fortunate to have teamed up with Jeremy as we have had so many epic catches and countless adventures together on GetANet!
We make a damn good team it's like we don't even have say anything as we both automatically know what to do when a fish is on the line it's like second nature!
Love that Guy!!!
And a Huge thanks to all my BOYZ and NJF because this probably would have never happened with out all of you!!! So in a silly way we all caught that Musky!!!!
I always felt like I wasn't that good of an angler because I never caught a Musky or Big Pike but I now have gained the confidence and knowledge to make that dream come true!!!
Once again thanks to everyone!!
You KNOW Im HAPPY JUST LOOK AT THE SMILE ON MY FACE!!! NA, LOOK AT THAT BEAUTY INSTEAD!!!!!!:D

Congrats on your first Muskie!.. One thing I guess I don't understand however. Did you keep or release the fish??.
I was confused by this line you wrote in your post-

" Quickly We dispatched the fish with the billy club and then took some pics.
Ah got ya!!!
Like a surgeon Jigman removes the hook and we took two quick pics and a measurement before releasing it back into the water with
it's tail smacking the water and giving me a quick bath".

Doesn't matter either way, but I was wondering about the "dispatched with a billy club" line you wrote.. When I do that, the fish is headed home to eat.
I crack its head one or twice with whatever, and she goes in the cooler..
Did you guys whack it to quiet it down, and then release it??.. Its None of my business of course, but I'm just confused by your wording... bob

BB.. The "ah I got ya!" part means he was joking. We treated that fish with the utmost care. It was netted, de hooked while in the net and water, then photographed for about 30 seconds before it was released. We release 99.9% of our catch...

Very cool.. Now I feel like a dope, for the "ah got ya" thing sailing over my head... I ate a tiger muskie one time many years ago.. My son caught it, wanted to take it home, etc.. It was a grainy nasty tasting thing, and I NEVER took another and never will... btw, Live suckers cannot be beat as musky bait!!! Nice job!... bob

I am quite surprised it took that long for somebody to question the "Billy Club" joke!!! Usually there would be a dozen people jumping on my case about Dispatching the Musky!!!
We really try to make every effort possible not to harm any fish! Sometimes things happen you can't avoid but if your prepared and make it priority ONE the end result is usually a good one with the fish swimming away unharmed!!!
