Spent the morning tossing rapalas and spinners, skunked. Witnessed a monster rainbow - definite trophy 7lb+ guesstimate - taken on a shiner & a slip bobber. They are still out there feeding fellas - even if air temps are 30 and rod tips are freezing closed....

Always amazed by the crowds at 7 am over at rv no matter the weather. Can't end the season with a ZERO - will be back out there when time permits.

I weighed in a nice 5.28-lb Rainbow a guy brought in to the bait shop today from Round Valley. He said he caught it on a Shiner under a slip bobber while fishing from the rocks, not sure if it's the same fish you saw or not, but it was definitely a great looking fish.

Damn I wasn't even close! I'm sure it was the same fish, he was pumped up and fishing the rocks. Prob came in about 8.30... Big fat belly & Great colors - a nice catch.

Zach what else have they been hitting?? Thought some slow rolled jerkbaits at sunrise would get a hit. Only had a couple hours so shiners were not really in the cards.

Haven't heard about lures much lately, and I haven't thrown any there myself in probably two weeks or so now. But was using small crankbaits and flies then, and usually my go-to lures from the shoreline are Rapalas (floating, countdown, and jointed).
