Fish Monger II Sun 11/9 Seabass Limit (10 man) to 5 1/4 lbs Codfish to 22 lbs / Ling!!!

Well after a tough one yest today decide to head right to the deep n not bother with the stripers and boy im glad we did!!! Loads of life of the best quality seabass of the year ( yes even better than last time I said that) Biggest was over 5 lbs handful more over 4lbs and a whole load of nice fish again... what made it even better is that some cod made an appearance today! Had a couple of big ones with Joe Murray fish at 22 and David had its near twin at 21 lbs. Had 23 cod with 15 being keepers!!! Pounded away at anything that bit a clam until the box was filled with a 10 limit of 150 Seabass 15 Cod 30 Ling and some big porgies. Threw back some small fluke and a couple short pollock n tog. Dont get much better of a day on the water! One to remember. Thanks Guys!!!

truth in reporting...............
Rowdy crew arrived bright & early. DaveTats even had the tip of the week for catching striped catfish from a local newspaper ready to give Captain hank who rudely destroyed the paper by eating it like a savage! My crew of intellectual & upper class gents were appaled but decided to go fishing anyway. Hank decided to not take us for the elusive & majestic striped catfish & instead took us to the far eastern wall of the cockolla canyon for deep dropping. The fishing was above par on the locations with philly groupers immediately coming & a few hubcap sized philly snappers as well.The bergalls were fierce but if you were patient & waited out the bergall bites you were rewarded. I put on a clinic as per tradition & landed a 22lb cod on the taditional cod rig of a 1/0octopus hook 2inch ghost shrimp & squid strip 8 inches below the sinker. I also landed 2 more cod on this rig. I will be giving seminars on how to catch cod now that i am pro staff.

all said & done we had 150 sea bass 15 keeper cod,30 ling 5 porgies 35 bergalls between 9-13 inches & for the day landed 13 different species of fish. The doggies were not bad either as Captain hank has anti dogfish sonar built into the hull of the new monger which angered jeff orr as he only caught 6 on the day. My #teambromance partner dave tatulli tried his best to outshine me with a 21lb cod & also fought a bergall for 20minutes that he says was really a cod. The tunes were great but the crew better. We even popped the directa & my cousin shoulders' cod cherries today. Huner & Nathan were always there to do important things like get me beer & light my cigar Oh & they helped with every tangle,net/gaff,hangup or whatever as well. Orr, Frankel,Evan,Tats,Bock,Directa,D-Rod,Cousin Rick & Scooter as always were a total blast to fish with but our hearts & livers were aching without Vinnie!

Next trip sunday with Hank for Togs!
