Guess those of us in Mercer county don't need to bother with trout stamps any more...

We'll all be catching some mighty fat bass an pickerel this spring! :D

On a side note, why are they not stocking Hook's Creek Lake? They claim it's due to high salinity, but trout can survive in saltwater.

Pft!!! I went to Colonial last weekend. If there are truely 480 trout in that place, I couldn't find them with tackle or the fishfinder. :(

I went there the day they stocked. I didn't fish but I talked to a few people I know who were there when it was stocked. They dumped all the trout in at the launch ramp. Both caught fish, one guy hooked a breeder but it broke his line when he tried to land it. I saw trout jumping while I was talking to them but didn't see anything caught while I was there. Colonial Lake used to be a great spot before the Cormorants and before they dredged it.

Hmmm... I had never fished the lake before. I was all over the place and only marked a few small fish on the finder around the very little bit of brush / cover on the bottom. The birds were going nuts that day.
