Met up with Dale and launched the GetANet in search of stripes on Saturday morning. Got to the lake and it was glass-like. It sure as sh*t didnt stay that way... In about an hour or less, the lake went from flat sheet to a washing machine with wind honking at 20+ mph. It made trolling tough but we stuck it out and managed as best as we could. Had a few short strikes and a fish dropped at the boat before we finally started boating them. We adjusted depths all day long and there was no real pattern as the fish were scattered throughout the water column. We wound up with 6 fish to 21" but probably couldve had 10-12 considering the number of short strikes we had. To cap the day off after an unreal adventure (which Dale can tell if he pleases lol), we had a nice double header. We tried to keep fishing after that but the wind beat us down something proper.

Interesting tidbit of the day: 2 of the hybrids we caught throughout the day did something we've both never saw before. 2 fish on 2 separate occasions ate 2 baits! Dale pulled one in and it had 2 of our hooks in its mouth. Later on in the day, I pulled in a fish that did exactly the same thing--one in the tongue and one in the roof of its mouth. Pretty cool to see them feeding so voraciously.

Here's the porn... Catch em' up!

.

I saw you guys out there Saturday afternoon in GetANet's very distinctive blue boat. I wanted to paddle over to you to say 'Hi', but the strong wind and waves made it too dangerous. I was taking on water from the waves smacking into the hull of my kayak. I had to open up the scuppers and let the water out. I was beginning to get apprehensive about the prospect of capsizing in the rough water.

I had to chill out on the 'beach' for a while and get my bearings. I was able to do some fishing from the shore and even fish in some of the less violent coves until sundown.

Despite losing a lot of time fighting the water, I was still able to catch-and-release two hybrid stripers, both around eighteen inches. I also caught-and-released some big Channel Catfish and some smaller Largemouth Bass.

If you don't mind me posting a picture to your thread, here is one of the hybrids I caught from shore.

Yes that day was almost a disaster for GetANet and the GLOUCESTER MEN on it.
We battled the wind all day runnin two boards and two downs the entire trip.
For the most part of the day we stayed tangle free but there were a couple and one tangled practically ended our day.
We were kinda takin what we could get with mother nature trying to fight the wind and had to swing back upwind into the monster.
So Then we get blown sideways across a shallow point and hang both boards up. Jeremy got a rod in each hand and not battling the fish LOL!
As I feveeerishly try to get us off the point one of the other rods get wrapped in the trolling motor so one motor down I reach down to fire up the 9.9 the cord rewind comes apart and jams up the motor! HOLY SHIT!!! NEVER BEEN IN THIS PREDICAMENT BEFORE> OH WAIT A MINUTE, YES I HAVE!!! UP the creek with out a paddle !!!!
Looking at the fishfinder going down like a shuttle launch I say to Jeremy there is nothing I can do so brace for impact!! Still holding on to the two snagged rods in his hands we slam up on a shale bank!!!

NOW WHAT YOU SAY RIGHT????
Being the maniac I am I jump into the chilly fall water above the knee and make my way to the back of the boat and with the waves crashing into my backside and over the transom I rip the cover off to find the bolt came loose and jammed into the flwheel. I knew if I could get it out I could get er running so armed with a pair of needle nose pliers and a $1.98 leathermen I begin the extraction! The look on Jeremy's face was hilarious as I removed all the parts from the motor. All this time the wind is honkin and waves crashin into the motor I get er done!
Now armed with a barely foot long piece of rope I bring her back to life!!!!!
YEA!!!!! Now under power we retrieved both snagged boards and rigs!!!
After such a catastrophy we decided to call it a day and limping back in and getting a lot closer to the ramp I spot some nice marks and being that Jeremy fishes with me so much he knows what that means when I slow down and start studying.
We make the decision to rig up again and deploy the arsenal!!! Sick MF'ers right !!! We make a few passes and hook up again!!!
Doubling up for the true end of the day was sweet!!! And as we tried to make one more pass we wrapped another line up and finally packed it in.....
All I can say is "What a Day"!!!!!!

Nice work guys.......nice to see Jigman on the GET A NET.

Bicey! What's up man??!!

Dale pretty much summed it up. It was an event of pretty epic proportions. That's twice now I've seen dale rip a motor open and fix it on the fly...only this time we weren't at the dock and he didn't have a toolset lol... Talk about a macguyver! Always an adventure... Dale really earned the soggy bottom boy moniker with his at-sea/in-sea engineering! Lol...
