Fished in Susquehanna County PA again this weekend...and had some crazy bass and pickerel fishing. Nailed a 6.5 pound slob largemouth which became my new personal best on a chartreuse spinner bait. Bass were taking spinnerbaits and buzzbaits like they have never eaten before. It got down to thirty five degrees on Sunday morning, and it was starting to flurry when the 6.5 pounder hit. Awesome weekend of fishing! And pics to prove it happened.

Awesome catches man.

Fished the New York side of Delaware over the weekend and couldn't land a bass for the life of me. Just pickerels, perches and occasional crappies thrown in. On a good side perches were all over 12 inches long and fat and crappies were 1.5lbs each so weekends were not complete waste.

The perch nailed the same spinnerbait used to catch the bass and pickerel. I love eating perch but I threw that one back. Too big to keep...and would rather have it swimming again for someone else to catch then to dredge it and try it.

Best time of year to fish! Although it was cold last night, the rest of the week low temps aren't terrible and get better by the weekend. Water temps will drop but fish will be actively feeding until water gets down to about 50F. Larger lakes take longer to cool down so you'll still find water temps in the low-mid 60's which is perfect for fall fishing. For me the first skim ice I see marks the end of the season - for bass. For trout, the fun is just beginning.

Thanks man...never thought there was a bass that big in this lake I fish in. I have caught a bunch of three pound fish but when I finally lipped this bass and saw it...I couldn't believe it! Now I am wondering if there are bigger fish in there...

Nice fish. I grew up fishing Susquehanna county. Haven't fish up there in years.

Great weather for a great bass! And that perch is huge, too.
