Planned a last minute trip up to the river in search of some drag ripping reel screaching inland tuna! Ended up not finding anybody to go with so made the trek solo after leaving at 9 finally pulled into town at 345 what a lovely drive in the rain it was! Got some sacks and went over to the tracks endes up slamming the trunk on my fly reel so was now a all day spining event until i look and the tiois missing off my spinning rod:mad::confused: so now all puttogether and being awake for 24 hr im all bummed out and wonder why i even came rigged up my spinning reel to my fly rod with good old duct tape! Sun comes up and a few cast in i hook up and now immediately remember why im here! Fish cones leaping out of water acrobatic backflips whats beter than that great scenery except for thousands of people !! End up javing the hiney hole of the strech and hook up every few casts until it was time to leave! Landed ZERO!! Due to breakoff people not moving etc. Was overall a great time with a great atmosphere fresh clean air and i hooked some fish cant think of a bettee way to spend a saturday! I have a funny suspicion i might come down with one of these viruses going around for friday and go see dr. Pulaski cough cough!

I fished Thurs - Sat. I mostly fished the Black Hole area. Great push of fish went through on Thurs seemed to hook up every 3 casts or so all day long. Great mix of Kings, Steelies and Cohos with a couple of Browns caught. Not too many guys.

Fri was a steady slow pick with more and more guys showing up.

By Sat the word got out about the good fishing but it was dead. When the sun came up I counted 22 guys on the side we were fishing and 16 on the other side. By the end of the 1st hour half the guys left and within 2 hrs we were the only guys on our side and 3 on the other. Sat I only hooked up once and luckily landed it. I was on my way home by noon.

From what I hear there was good fishing from the Ballpark up on Sat and Sun. There are plenty of Steelhead in Altmar.

fished that area most of the day except for a few hrs looking around for a hot bite mid day some fish caught was steadily 1 for 25 casts slow imo looked around few spots Nothin doing looked at estuary seen one jump and that was that back to where i started

I will be going up around 1am hopefully fish come up tonight! Me and my brother got the salmon fever. My brother did really good last week so we will see what happens.
