I saw a report of a Walleye being caught in Spruce Run on Facebook, had me wondering what other wacky catches guys have had over the years. The "Hybrids in Greenwood Lake" and 'Tiger Muskie in the Passaic" ones have been circulating for some time. Anyone catch something they know isn't "supposed" to be there?

Here's my entry, a Passaic River Walleye I landed two winters ago.

Great idea for a thread. Mostly a salt water guy so I don't really have anything to add but wanted to know if it's true that there are musky in the Passaic River? That river is full of surprises!

had a hybrid on at RV the 2nd time I fished it many years ago. broke off boatside was using 4lb test back then on an ultralight. If you look at the F+G website about the lakers and the netting results theres a pic w the state w 3 of them, they kept them after netting them this past season

I caught a brown trout in the tiny, swimming pool-sized mud pit right off Kenilworth Blvd. I think there's a pipe that might bring in overflow from when the Rahway River floods. I was carp fishing and it ate a piece of corn.

I was fishing the Manasquan River below Bryce Park hoping to get a sea-run brown trout. When I saw the flash of silver on the end of my line, I thought I finally scored. Until I pulled this guy out...

I physically watched the state put 1000 tiger muskies in the Passaic at the Elmwood Park boat basin when I was a kid.

I always fished a tributary that led to the passaic river and it was full of bait. For ten years I've fished this spot and caught tons of smallmouth. However , I could never understand why I couldn't get a pike. Sure enough, this past march I finally scored a pike that was 30 inches and it was def a surprise because its the only one I caught there in ten years.

OK I'll bite. Where did the musky come from? Was that watershed ever stocked with musky?

I've thrown stockers in Clark res. when I was a kid. Caught them below the falls and ran em up! Lol... There's prob a few deeps holes that'd hold em over. Forage is another story. Perhaps they developed a taste for gills and crappies?

All this year
I hAve been fishing Clark Res for 40 years first trout I ever caught there and just assumed it was a transplant as lots if guys move trout around and it's stocked below the falls. Back before they drained the Res we would catch yellow perch, white perch, occasional pickerel as well as the LM and crappie that are the staples now

Tiger musky is a mystery to me, trout fishing below a certain falls and caught it in a spinner no clue where it came from
