Rented a boat down at squan this afternoon. Water is down about 3-4 feet at least. Water temp was between 65-67. Was windy as hell, but thats nothin new there. Managed two bass, one in the trees and the other along one of the dikes. Both on a spinner bait. This was the bigger one, short and round. http://i1283.photobucket.com/albums/a544/erik_anderson1/2014-10-06195209_zps07d29206.jpg (http://s1283.photobucket.com/user/erik_anderson1/media/2014-10-06195209_zps07d29206.jpg.html)

Never hear much from there and would like to hear more. Any hybrids being caught? Sound like a slow day, but you got one nice one. Thanks for the report and keep them coming.

Nice report!!! Short and round is a gr8 description.....
Used to fish there alot when i lived in the area 15 yrs back.....
Always did best in winter , before and after ice......
Off the rocks with crappie jigs and slip floats and just let the waves give it action..Biggest with that technique was a 6 and half lb. largie and a 5 lb smallie....Always threw rooster tails for stockie trout on another rig....
Once had a 6-8 lb large mouth chasing a 14" stocked brookie that i was realing in.....Gr8 hybrid fishery as well....
Gr8 place to drop shot deep:)

Def a good spot for drop shot. Hard to do in the rental boats though if there's any wind. A few other boats on the water but didn't see them catch anything. In the bait shop there's a pic hanging of guy holding a 45" tiger. Date on the pic was from May this year.
