Took my last bit of vacation this week and only fished the last 2 days since I had tickets to the NASCAR race in Delaware over the weekend. :D

Day one we decided to check out some new water and hit up the D. First time there and definitely an experience!! Only time I've been in water where the flow was stronger than my trolling motor, lol... Managed a few nice smallies. I got one at 18", while pops got a 17" and a 16". Saw lots of channels up to 5# and carp galore but all where spooked by our presence. Not a bad scounting journey. Didn't hit our target species, even though it was supposed to be an overcast day with possible showers, but, I've had worse days elsewhere, lol.......

Today I decided to get in my first fall trouting. Wanted to check out some more new water so I went exploring. First couple spots seemed unable to hold any fish, let alone decent ones so I kept moving. After putting more than a few miles on my car I found some productive water.

First hole gave up two fish tank size smallies. Not bad, but kept moving. Next hole produced a nice chunky holdover bow. :D Quick release and kept going. Next hole I tossed a perfect cast right next to a log. As I realed it in a watched a 15"+ palomino come charging out after it. Thought for sure it was game on but he peeled off at the last second. Through a few more offerings at it but it just sat in the current and mocked me, lol. Smart fish, hope I get back to him before someone else does. Hooked and lost another bow on my way back and called it a day. Def going back......

Then, after a long days fishing, nothing beats a good brew. Never had this before, but if your into IPAs, this is a solid brew! I don't work for them, just a recommendation, lol........

YEA BUDDY! Nice couple of trips G! Some good looking fish ya got and some awesome weather. Those Smallies are fattening up quite nicely. That's a tasty brew indeed! I do dabble with the IPA's from time to time, good stuff there. Great report!!!:D

.

Looks like a great day on the water.
I never make that far South on the Delaware, even though I work in Trenton not far from the river.

Lets hope that Young-of-the-Year disease doesn't wipe out the bass again. That disease is rearing its ugly head again in the lower Susquehanna.

Nice catches dude! Some nice pics too. I've also never hit the D over there but looks like nice territory. "What's vacation?"...damn I need some time off.
