It looks like tonight was my last after work river fishing trip. Some of you may know that I run a Broadway theater as a stagehand, and today was my last 8 hour day until November. I will be working from 8 am until midnight for the next 7 weeks, 6 days a week, loading in a rehearsing a new STING musical "THE LAST SHIP" at my theater

Went out late this afternoon for an hour that has produced between 5-10 pike for the past 8-10 weeks. Tonight I was skunked ! I had a couple small strikes, but nothing landed.

But.....the good news is that this Saturday, the bow hunting deer season opens up. I may have a weekend morning or two off in the bext few weeks, and I am hoping to get out.

This is the one I am after. I have a bunch of pictures of this guy, and I am just hoping that he stays in the area long enough to get a chance at him. A really great buck !!

Damned fine animal there! Sux to hear you're going to be work bound for awhile, but hopefully you'll be able to drop that trophy! Good luck!!

.

Being busy is good. Nobody is paying us to fish. But sixteen hour days, six days a week is obscene.

Besides, we still have to market your invention; -that swinging arm you use to take selfies. I gave it some thought. We can increase the utility of it by having it accept different devices besides a camera. Maybe a rod holder if someone wants to troll with their rod a few feet from their kayak. Maybe it's a good way to mount a portable fish finder.

You own the prior-art, so the ball is in your court.

It's bitter sweet. Good to have work, then that cuts into fishing time.

I think with the river so low, the same holes and spots are being overfished. Need some rain to spread fish out again to new areas. This will be the first week since July I wont hit it. Shower chances 3 of the 6 days so hopefully it goes up a foot or so.

That's what I am thinking too, but........I haven't shot a doe in about 30 years and not sure if I want to. I know the next 2 weeks would be my best chance for this guy, but not sure if I will be out before the regular season.
