Hey all you crazy NJFers..Long time no talk. Sorry to be away so long but life …mostly work…has taken over big time the last couple of months. Hopefully I’m back to a more normal schedule now.

Anyway here are some pics from our trip to Alaska. Sorry it's long...

We spent a week at Anvik River Lodge. This place is remote…400 mile charter flight from Anchorage to the Village of Anvik Airstrip…then 75 miles up river by jet boat to the lodge. And there are no other people closer then those you just left behind in Anvik. That’s right, no people, no roads, no other boats, no garbage, (Sorry Andy no tires to pull out of the river here!), no sounds that aren’t nature made! All I can say is that you have to go to Alaska. It’s just more that you can imagine. The fishing is just stupid good. Every day we caught Salmon, Arctic Char (Dolly Varden), Grayling, and Pike. The Salmon goes without saying with 20 to 30 per person per day…even more Grayling which are really cool fish and super aggressive….Artic Char are the tough ones so they get to be a special challenge each day. And Pike at the “Pike Slough” is off the charts. My son Kenny and I spent 2 hours in the pike slough and caught at least 20 pike all on top water buzz frogs. And we missed at least that many…mostly because you would have times when 3 to 5 Pike were coming at your bait from different directions at the same time…AND BAMMM!...massive explosions….talk about testing your nerves to not set the hook too soon. Just unbelievable. I kept thinking that if Skunk went in there with his yak he would never leave!!!!

The lodge and set up was outstanding…..Big group breakfast at 8AM, meet your guide at the dock at 9…fish until 6 including a shore lunch of fresh fish cooked on a fire with an assortment of beers and beverages…..back to the lodge for dinner…..drinks and cigars by the fire every night. Then do it all again! Awesome. I can’t even do it justice with words.

Hope you guys enjoy the pics…I have many more but tried to give you a flavor of what it was like. Let me know if the link doesn’t work. I have never used Photobucket before. I put a password on the folder because I’m old and don’t want the whole world wide web looking at my junk!!! HA!

It’s good to be back…hope you are all well boys! Look forward to seeing you guys out there again soon.
