I haven't posted in a couple of weeks, but the catching has been off the charts. I haven't had a bunch of chances to get out, but each short trip has resulted in many pike landed. There hasen't been any real big ones or odd ones, but tonight was different !

After about 8 hours of getting the yard ready for a party tomorrow, I just had to sit my a$$ in the kayak for an hour or so. I decided to hit a close spot that has been producing between 5 and 10 pike each trip out for the past couple of months. This spot is a real PIA to get to, but that's why it's a honey hole.

About the 5th cast, I see a large wake following my spinner bait and a huge blow up without a hook up. It was a far cast and I just kept reeling in....Another big swipe and no hook up....WTF ! The third time he hit it, it was a solid hook up !

I always wondered if I am catching the same pike in some spots, but after catching hundreds of pike over the years in this one area, I can be sure that I never caught this one.

This fish was as solid as any caught this year and just over 36 inches and even with his screwed up top jaw, I am guessing that he is not having any problems finding a meal. It did not look like it was from an injury, it looked like smooth all over.

Finished up with three other mid 30's and one about 24 inches. Just what I needed after a crazy day and even a more hectic one tomorrow.

That's really weird!

I wonder if he has a hard time picking up girl pike with a face like that.

I remember reading something about this disorder but, i can't remind myself about the name. Well type in short nose pike and there are a couple pictures that look like yours. It's not to common but i does happen.
