I moved a bit west of Allentown last month and just had a bad football injury. I'm on disability until the surgery but I'm thinking of doing some fishing if I can. What kind of action is out here if anyone knows?

The little Lehigh stream is a trout brothel but is mostly catch and release, as well as fly fishing only on the parts that I have been. Size matters here and a size 22 or 24 fly presentation is almost a must. The summer trico hatch can be a very productive time to catch them on dry flies. Not sure if the Fly shop is still open, but this used to be a go-to guy for advice on the current hatch on the stream.

I usually fish from shore.

I usually fish from shore.

I'm in Nazareth but only fish by boat so I can't help.

Lots of opportunities depending how far your willing to drive. Lots of trout streams that hold trout all year, the Schuylkill river holds flathead cats up to 50lbs. Few lakes are close to you like lesser lake, kercher creek dam, then a few bigger reservoirs like beltzville, green lane reservoir, ontelaunee which all have good fishing opportunities.
