Just received this picture from Captain Phil (Eastmans)

This MONSTER Baseball Bat was caught on Captain Marks Lady Tracey Ann (Eastmans Boat) and is being transported to Suds & Soda To be Officially weighed

It is UNOFFICIALLY a NEW record smashing the old record caught on the Bunny Clarke by just over a Lb

I got to go I can't wait to do a trip up there soon that's unbelievable. I never saw a Whiting that big.

That fish is a SOLID 30 inches or more. It extends from the tip of his head to his belt line

Caught them that big by the burlap sack load in the 70's on the Norma K III night trips

Fifties / sixties era we caught many baseball bat whiting in sight of Ambrose lightship , not sure hoe they would measure up to this one but had too be close !
Like Andy mentioned literally fill ur lap sacks which were original PB fish coolers with em! So thick at times could catch em' on strips of red flannel cutike strips of squid. !!:cool:

Hold on guys I have 2 that I will be announcing soon. Eastmans is in the process of becoming an Advertiser here

When I get the ok from Jerry I will be posting a special back to back Thursday/Friday trip on NJ FISHING and my board

There are no open boats Fishing for Whiting at present

Frost Fish.

Used to be so thick by the Long Branch Pier with all the lights, they got washed up on the beach by the thousands.

Pier fishing was great -fished well into dark, took a break inside with a couple beers, game of pool, and then back outside for the midnight shift.
