.
I haven't fished from the shoreline of Spruce Run in a long time, but in the evenings during the weekend, I see dozens, maybe a hundred people fishing the shoreline. Most of them cluster around the pier. The anglers range from the clueless who invariably get skunked to sophisticated anglers who use high-end European bank fishing equipment.
I don't see them reeling in much, but I assume they're doing alright since I see the same people there weekend after weekend, all summer long.
The reservoir is well stocked with catfish and has a good population of carp. Some people have caught big pike from the shoreline, although i haven't had much luck with that.

Theres a big ole 4LB LMB right off the shore of one of the campsites right by a bush with a large boulder....won't say which campsite but he likes large shiners
Caught him 3 times in 3 camping trips. Other than that, you can get crappie and catfish all night.
Enjoy
