finally caught a decent bass this year

finally caught something nice this year. working from home today 12-8 so I hit a local spot. I was on the water by 10 (which is the earliest ive been all year) I need to start waking up earlier, because I had 2 fish before 1030 then the clouds parted the sun came out and nada. caught this one on a white spinnerbait at the end of a long cast, in one of the only open spots of water where you aren't scratching your back on trees. sweeeeet

That is a good bass.

It's tough to take a good selfie with a big fish.
What I do is reverse the camera so that I can see what the camera sees and frame the shot. Then I turn the camera to vertical and I try to get the whole fish in the frame. After the whole fish is in the vertical picture, I try to fit my enormous head somewhere in the frame to confirm it was me who caught the fish - and then I take the picture.

Yea I suck at pictures. As soon as I let it go I realized I could have used the kick stand on the phone case that I boughtfor that sole purpose of self fish pics.
