I was in the mood to do some ultra-light fishing, so I made the drive to the upper North Branch with my fly rod and the lightest spinning rod I own. I started off with the fly rod, and actually managed to catch several fish despite what a lousy fly fisherman I am. I guess when the fish are small and stupid, it doesn't really matter what you throw at them. After I got tired of sucking, I switched over to the spinning rod and started getting a lot more hookups. The place is polluted with sunfish, plus I also caught some fallfish, largemouths, smallmouths, rock bass, and even a couple of rainbows. Water was very slightly stained, and very low.

I was just down river from you, got a few at Rt.22 and 202. Mainly on a clean up scouting trip, I want to hit the Lamington and North Branch if we can pull it off this summer.
