After a crazy weekend with one too many highs and a serious lowwwwwww, I needed to be near water badly. No better place than the 'BIG D' for me. Serene, picturesque and not another angler in sight. Today was just what I needed to level off and go back into focus.
Headed over to the bait spot to make bait. Saw plenty of fish at the bait spot and caught alot. Bluegills, Rock Bass and a couple trout made it to the bait bucket. I also saw surreal amounts of Carp, Suckers, Gizzard Shad, LM, SM and something long and toothy. I should've stayed there all night, LOL! Headed over to the invasive species grounds only to find that my aerator crapped out. All my nice fresh bait was dead, DAMN. I like live bait for those illusive FLATHEADS, only caught like 200 in the last 3 years. There not thick in the 'D' by any means, no, no of course not. Gotta catch something, at least the Channels were feeding heavy. So many run offs, swings and misses, one of my reels blew up when I set the hook, GOOD TIMES! I LIVE FOR THIS ISHT!!! The reel that blew up was a newer Shimano bait runner, no worries, its covered by Pam over at Progressive, LOL!!! Landed 6 Channels tonight but definitley want the fish that burnt out my bearings to come back in the near future. 5 of the channels were average, 4-6 lbs. The biggest was 8lbs 8ozs. Great night on the river with nobody around. Here's a couple pics for the CATFIZZ lovers.
